Custom message after using all votes?

  • Greetings. Thanks for a great plugin.

    I’m currently running a weekly event for amateur artists on a game giveaway forum, and as a thanks for participating in voting the voters can enter a lottery for some Steam games. The only problem is that we want people to use all their 3 votes before being able to receive the link to the lottery, which is something people aren’t doing at the moment. Some people only vote once, some people don’t vote at all.

    Is there any way to add a custom message after all 3 votes have been cast?

    sorry for late response.
    Thank you for your feedback. It’s pretty cool contest you are running there.
    You can change the text in the file: plugins/contest-gallery/frontend/check-language.php.
    There you can change the text for the variable $language_AllVotesUsed. In the moment in english its:

    $language_AllVotesUsed = “You have already used all your votes”;

    Thanks for the idea! I didn’t realize it would actually be clickable (or copyable). However, that requires people to try and vote a 4th time to get the pop-up if I’m not entirely mistaken, which isn’t favorable.

    There’s a bug when using “Hide votes until voted” I believe. We’re trying to keep a somewhat blind voting system so you only see the amount of votes the people you’ve voted for have gotten. It’s to prevent people getting discouraged from participating if they see they aren’t getting many votes, we only present a point system at the end. However, if you try to use votes after your third vote, those images’ score will also be shown. Using the method suggested will make people find out about that bug, and thus able to see all the votes.
