    Jetpack Mechanic ??

When you share a post on Facebook, or when Jetpack Publicize publishes a post to your Facebook page, Facebook crawls the page and looks for Open Graph meta tags in the head to build a complete post preview (with an image, title, description, …).

Jetpack automatically creates these Open Graph Meta tags for you unless you already use another Open Graph plugin, in which case we let the other plugin handle things. Looking at your site, you seem to be using SEO by Squirrly right now. However, when you first attempted to share that post yesterday, Facebook could not find any Open Graph Meta Tags for that post.

You can see what Facebook sees by entering one of your posts’ URLs in Facebook Debugger:
    https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug
    https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object?q=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.famoza.net%2Fdan-za-swiftieje-danas-mozete-osvojiti-1989-taylor-swift%2F
    https://i.wpne.ws/ho2q

Did you recently activate that plugin? Was it configured to include Open Graph Meta tags before?

Now that the tags are there, you can click on the “Fetch new scrape information” button in Facebook Debugger to force Facebook to look at that post again, and look for Open Graph Meta tags. That should solve the issue for that post.

If it keeps happening for more posts on your site, I’d suggest checking Facebook Debugger for those posts to find out more.

    I hope this helps.

@viktaroa Your problem appears to be quite different. That error indicates that your site isn’t properly connected to WordPress.com at the moment. Could you try the following:

    1) Go the Jetpack menu in your dashboard
    2) Click on “Disconnect Site from WordPress.com” at the bottom of the page if your site is currently connected to WordPress.com.
    3) Confirm the disconnection.
    4) Click on the Connect button to connect your site to WordPress.com again.

If that doesn’t help, can you please use Jetpack’s Debugger module to send us some more information about your site?

    1) Go to the Jetpack page in your dashboard.
    2) Click on the Debug link appearing at the bottom of the page.
    3) Click the link that says “click here to contact Jetpack support.”
    4) Fill in the description box and your name and email address.
    5) Click the “Contact Support” button to send us the debug results privately. It’s best not to post this information on public forums, as it contains private details about your site.

    Thanks!

Hi Jeremy. I’m pretty desperate so I’ve tried Squirrly and I’ve already deleted it. Now I’m using SEO by Yoast and it seems to be working.

I’ve been using Jetpack for a year and it simply stopped working after the latest update, it was fine before and I’ve never used any other plugin with Open Graph Meta before. To be honest, I didn’t even know what was Open Graph Meta.

I’ve tried to uninstall Jetpack, force it to use Open Graph Meta but it didn’t work. I have no idea why it doesn’t work in Jetpack any more ?? Do you have any idea what happened?

Thank you. Every single post I’ve made in the last couple of days and after the Jetpack update had the same issue. All other posts are working fine.

Hi Jeremy. The website is mybuenahomes.com. Kindly check it out for me. In the meantime I will send the debugger report. Thanks

I’m afraid I can’t tell, since I can only see how your posts’ Open Graph Meta Tags look now; I can’t tell how they looked a week ago: that would depend on your configuration of plugins now.

Now I’m using SEO by Yoast and it seems to be working.

Yoast SEO also handles Open Graph Meta tags, so it will indeed work. In general, you shouldn’t experience any issues as long as your posts include correct Open Graph Meta Tags. It doesn’t matter what plugin you use to output the tags, as long as the tags are correct.

Every single post I’ve made in the last couple of days and after the Jetpack update had the same issue. All other posts are working fine.

Since your site doesn’t use Jetpack’s Open Graph Meta Tags, Jetpack doesn’t have any impact on the look of your posts on Facebook. The problem consequently had another cause.

In any case, Facebook Debugger should help you figure out what’s wrong with your Open Graph Meta tags if you keep experiencing issues. The tags outputted by Yoast SEO are good though, so you shouldn’t experience any issues.

@viktaroa Since you contacted us via the Debugger, we’ll get back to you very soon!
