The Sync Status (final step) of setup has been stuck at “in progress” for 2 days. Mailchimp indicates that the site is connected successfully via the API and this plugin, and allows me to set up the automated campaign, but no emails have sent (I’ve completed several abandoned cart trials to test). Something is stuck and there are no options to re-start the sync process, or docs how what to do if it stalls. I’m not sure if that’s why my abandoned cart emails aren’t sending, but that’s all I can think of. I wish MC had spent a little more time with this plugin before release, because it seems like nothing but problems. How many people have actually got it working?

  • Hey aleklisefki,

Thanks for posting! Sorry to hear that the sync appears to have stalled.

We recently pushed an update to the plugin- would you mind updating it if you haven’t already? Can you also note what version of php you’re using on your site? Note that in order for this plugin to work most effectively, you’ll want to run php 5.6 or greater.

I added some additional logging on your account. Could you please disconnect the plugin, then delete it and re-add it? When setting it back up, make sure the ‘Enable debugging logs to be sent to MailChimp’ option is set to ‘Yes’:

    mailchimp logs

When all that’s done, please reply back and I can continue to investigate.

    Thanks!

After updating/deactivating/re-activating the plugin, I saw the note about needing php 5.6. I upgraded my php version and it seems to be working now. I’ll have to wait to see that an email actually gets sent, but the sync process has completed now. Thanks!

    Thanks for the followup, @aleklisefski!

Sorry for the initial trouble and inconvenience. If you get an opportunity and are enjoying or working plugin, can you please update your review / rating?

Of course, please feel free to reach out with any other questions or concerns.

    Thanks again,
    Garnet

After waiting a few more days, I still do not see a single abandoned cart email as being sent. Is there anything else I can do to troubleshoot this?

    Hey again aleklisefski,

Abandoned cart emails will only be sent when someone submits their email address on the checkout page but then abandons their cart by moving to another page, closing the tab, or otherwise not finishing the purchase. From here, the email address would be passed back to the ‘transactional’ portion of your list, making it eligible to be sent to by your abandoned cart email. Check out the ‘Before you start’ section of the Create an Abandoned Cart Workflow article: https://eepurl.com/b3mJxT

If you want to test, you can add an item to your cart in your WooCommerce store, go to check out, fill out a few fields including the email address field, and don’t complete the purchase (close the tab). Then check to see if your email address is passed over to the transactional section of the list the abandoned cart is linked to.

If you’re still not seeing it fire, hit up MailChimp Support from within your paid account via the steps mentioned in MailChimp’s Support Options kb: https://eepurl.com/b2Q7X5. If you do reach out, they’ll need some information off the bat:

The name of the abandoned cart workflow
    A link to your store
The email address you tested with

If you have any other plugin questions feel free to start up another post!

    Best,
    Garnet
