• Hi

Although the plugin seems to work good, it provides a strange UX for the user. First the page obviously is loaded without css, then the css Comes into place and the look of the page is changing to normal.

Is there a way not to Show the user the first step and go directly to the final site?

It is basically loading the CSS async (without waiting on the page). Currently without the use of critical css which is complex in its own right, must use a preloader. Plugin supports the-preloader right now for integration, just activate.

Not doing this gives what you see as a broken site for upto 1 second.

    Hey Derrick,

I’m having the exact same issue. The site looks broken for about 1 second and then it changes to normal. You said that the “plugin supports the-preloader right now for integration, just activate”.

What do you mean by activate? How can it be activated? I see the preloader.php file in the folder but is this something that a non-techie person can do? We basically want to avoid the broken look.

    Thanks in advance!

PS: installed and activated the ‘Preloader’ plugin, still the same issue. The preloader image doesn’t even show.

OK, so using ‘z-index: 99998;’ as part of the “#wptime-plugin-preloader” css in my child theme I managed to make the preloader work.

However, the issue remains. Now it shows the broken site first, then the preloader image, and finally it shows the normal site. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

With the preloade Plugin the site does not load at all.

@matsbeckman, use my wp-criticalcss plugin. Monthly cost for the service though.

    Hi Derrick,

I tried with the wp-criticalcss plugin but it doesn’t seem to do it for me :/

@matsbeckman did you sign up and let the queue process? It requires a service and needs to generate the css, its not instant.
