    Hello,

First of all – this is the greatest gallery plugin I have tried.

I have those 2 issues since earlier this week. Maybe someone experience those?

    1. I can upload galleries and display them perfectly, but when I click on “Edit thumbnail” the applet window for editing is blank.

    2. When I use “Add media” button and want to choose from NextGEN Gallery, I get as far as selecting the image but when I click on “Insert into post” – the applet window goes blank and the image is not added.

I tried installing a new fresh WordPress instance and the same happens there.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Additional info:
    – WordPress is up to date.
    – NextGEN is up to date.
    – All other plugins are up to date.
    – Caching plugin (Total Cache) was installed but inactive? Browser’s cache was cleared.
    – I tried in both Chrome and IE11.
    – I recently change hosting provider (now it’s Webd.pl)
    – Theme: Revive

@marcinswiostek – Have you tried deactivating all of your plugins, clearing your browser cache (and site caches if you are using a caching plugin), then reactivating the NextGEN plugin? Also to note, just deactivating a cache plugin does not always remove its effects on a site, in many cases you will need to manually remove it and any of the cache artifacts it leaves behind after deactivation.

If this fixes the problem then it was likely one of the deactivated plugins that was causing an issue. Now, retrace your steps activating each plugin and re-checking to see if the problem returns. If it does then that last activated plugin was probably the one. Keep reactivating and in most cases it is also best to keep checking after each plugin, sometimes there may be more than one plugin on a site that will create an issue. If you do find one (or more) plugins causing this problem we would greatly appreciate your feedback on them so the developers may address them as soon as they can.

Also to note, in rare cases it may be the theme itself that is causing a conflict so while you have just the NextGEN plugin activated you might consider temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress Twenty series themes and see if this corrects the issue as well.

If the problem still persists after all of this we would still want to know, even more so, as we will still want to sort out the issue and may need additional details.

    Thanks!

Hi @photocrati and thanks for the answer.

    Unfortunately:

    1. Yes, I tried deactivating/uninstalling all other plugins. In fact I went as far as making a brand new WordPress based site with no plugins except NextGEN – same issue.

    2. Browser cache is cleaned – I tried both Chrome and IE.

    3. I tried different themes, including Twenty Fourteen and Fifteen.

As I observe no one else seem to have this problem, I am pretty sure that it is caused by my server settings. I changed hosting company lately. That’s when it went bonkers.

I asked my hostng provider for the following info:
    – MySQL up to date (at least 5.6+)?
    – PHP up to date (at least 5.6+)?
    – The mod_rewrite Apache module activated?
    – PHP Safe Mode OFF?

I’ll get back to you as soon as I got this.

@marcinswiostek – This may also be a “migration” issue. Please try our external Reset Tool plugin here: https://bitbucket.org/photocrati/nextgen-gallery-reset/get/default.zip

To install and activate, go to Plugins > Add New … Upload Plugin
To use, go to Tools > NextGEN Gallery Reset

We do not offer specific support for the Reset Tool plugin as is but it can help in many circumstances, please let us know if it does.

    Thanks!

    Hi Cais,

yes I was thinking that migration might be the cause, but I don’t really know how. Maybe you can give me a hint about what should be changed in NextGEN code (or database) for a new server?

I used the reset tool, but it didn’t fix the issue.

On the other hand, my hosting provider told me this:

    – MySQL is 5.5
    – PHP is 5.5.26 (but 7 is available)
    – The mod_rewrite Apache module is activated
    – PHP Safe Mode OFF is not activated

    Thanks,

    -Marcin

@marcinswiostek – You may need to still remove any caching artifacts that are left behind by W3 Total Cache when it is deactivated. In some cases those can still affect how a site is rendered and/or its links are resolved.

If that still does not get things sorted out, please send us a Bug Report (https://imagely.com/report-bug/ … please reference this topic) so we can get a better look under the page at your site.

Please include as many details as you can about your site and the issue at hand so we can move on this as fast as possible.

    Thanks!

    – Cais.
