Permissions so each WP user can only edit own pages/sub-pages?
-
Hi Guys,
I just did a quick search and couldn’t see that this exact topic has been covered before. If it has, my apologies!
My situation (briefly) is this – I have setup a small folio site for a group of students. Each student needs to be able to edit their own page and sub-page/s, but should not be allowed to do anything else (include editing pages owned by others).
I’m wondering what the most appropriate permission schema would be to enable this.
The problem I am having at present is that when students create their own pages, the ‘owner’ attribute is set correctly (and they can then edit their own pages properly). However, to get them rolling I have started creating most of their pages, and so need to change the ‘author’ attribute to the student to enable them to edit it. When I try to do this, though, I can only change it to the two users with administrator access.
I installed Role Manager 2.2.2 Plugin hoping to be able to easily create a ‘student’ permission, but having done that, get the above problem.
Is there a standard WP user level I can use? What would the best solution be?
Thanks, Jeremy.
