changing the template

first of all, please excuse for my english. ( im not english )
im wondering how to change the template. i’ve changed the template ( for index.php ) but its not like what i want.
it supposed to be a 3 table/columns page.
and, err.. i dont know if this is possible but, just asking if i could make a request to anybody who can make a simple template with 3 table/columns for me.
