In CSS h1 a {margin-left: -500em;}

In my CSS I don’t have a h1, just a h2 and a h3.

Well you could just add it or use #header instead. Code as above. Your index source seems a bit strung out ??

No…. you have the image in #masthead, not #header.
You don’t have a statement for #header in fact.

i know. where in the turorial is said to modify in #header i have changed in #masterhead.
that’s because i used the gemini template.

I tried putting {margin-left: -500em;} in my header but what happened instead of the text moving all the way to the left of the screen, the menu on the side got really messed up.

It’s not margin, it’s text-indent.

Tried that too. But it gives me the same problem. Instead I just changed
<h1 id=”header”>“><?php bloginfo(‘name’); ?></h1>
into
<h1 id=”header”></h1>
