MAJOR PROBLEM. Site not viewable in IE7

  • Hey Dude, I just experienced the same problem as well for my blog, it can no longer be viewed in Ie7, did you make any changes to your blog? check out my post, maybe we have similar circumstances?

    i haven’t made any changes to either site other than the normal posting that I do.

    you also didn’t leave a link to check.

    i just checked yours on my internet explorer and they aren’t working. Something has to be causing it. Yours also work on Safari as do mine.

    i’m thinking it’s wp related, although i didn’t do anything differently, so i’m not quite sure what it is. and not all of my wp blogs are having this problem either, which is strange. (both sites having problems – using wp 2.1 for one, the other is on 2.3)

    friends are telling me they can’t see the sites on avant either.

    I also have this problem – all I did was add a new post and now my blog page will not load in internet explorer

    i am using the newest version of wordpress. Starlight i can see yours in firefox and safari but I’m not seeing it in internet explorer.

    this has nothing to do with wordpress. validate your pages, LOOK at your source. Internet explorer breaks with crappy HTML, and poorly done javascript, among other things.

    it also does NOT like errors within <head></head> tags

    thanks, whooami – i am a real neophyte when it comes to troubleshooting this type of problem and i appreciate you pointing me to the validator page!!! my daughter (who is much more web savvy than i) is fixing the code based on your feedback.

    according to the validator page, your code is fixed, but you are still getting the error, as is the rest of us.

    thats not true, roofth, that page displays JUST fine in ie now.

    i switched back to the wordpress default template (which has validated code) and now my blog displays correctly on ie7. thanks!!!

    the problem with the second site you listed is your javascript, roofth.

    View source, and save, then open it in IE6. It initially loads THAT content, with the obligatory red X and toolbar along the top. Enable THAT content, and the page crashes.

    I think all of our errors are lying in some type of javascript code as whooami said.

    I just removed the sitemeter javascript on the https://oldmansoftball.ianbethune.com site and now all of the sudden the site is back up in IE7.

    So my question is this, is internet explorer suddenly picking up javascript code differently than yesterday. My sites were working just fine in IE earlier in the day and then it went away.

    Now by removing the sitemeter javascript, the sites are working fine.
