read more buttons and links to posts still show excerpt only

    In the theme editor, I changed the_content to the_excerpt where it was shown in the content-excerpt.php because I wanted the posts pages to just show excerpts. However, this caused the post content to not be accessible at all, including by pressing the read more button at the bottom of the excerpt. All links to the post just lead to excerpt.

    I tried changing the theme editor back to the_content, but all the pages still just show excerpts, so I don’t know what is going on.

    I have tried switching themes and do not have this issue on another theme, but I really love the aesthetic and functionality of Nisarg so I would love to know how to resolve the problem!

    Hi,

    You mean you want just the excerpt in the blog page, and after that clicking read more you want to take to the full post page right?

    Nothing to edit in the theme editor, just revoke all the changes you made. Then go to, Appearance -> Customize -> Post Options -> How would you like to dipaly a post on post listing page? = Post Excerpt. It will do the trick.

    If that is not what you want, let us know, what you want. Sorry if I didn’t understand your question.

    Thank you very much for getting back to me!

    So I believe I have revoked any changes I made, and have switched to Post Excerpt in the Customizer. However, the Read More buttons still are just looping back to the excerpt rather than to the full post, making the full post inaccessible.

    Do you know what could be causing this?

    Hi,

    Make sure you didn’t edit anything in the single.php file, and content files inside template-parts folder.. Because everything works good in my local install. Try this, backup the theme via FTP ( just copy the theme folder in to your computer, ) and try reinstall the theme.
