Any way for featured image to use original size?

    I’m working with a client who is using the Gridbox theme to list products. On the posts page, we’re making use of featured images to create a product gallery. I read in the docs that the image size of featured images is hard-coded at 800×500. Unfortunately, this means that some of the existing images, including those with portrait orientation, are cropped in an undesirable way.

    I have migrated their previous site to WordPress using Gridbox, and my only option at this point is to ask them to take new photos. I don’t know if it’s feasible for the client, but I will try.

    If it’s not possible to change the image size, can you add this for consideration as an enhancement request?

    I was able to find a workaround by creating an image canvas 800 x 500, and then placing an size-optimized photo on that canvas. Going to mark this post as resolved.
