• Hi All,

In my post title , adds some special character. so whenever i am clicking the URL, It shows 404 error message in the permalink. I have a Large database records. I have to strip all the smart quotes to the existing records also. So please advise me.

Examples, in wp_posts – post_name fields stored like as given below.

    %c2%a1mexico-ahora
    kids-fly-free-to-disneyland%c2%ae-resort
    wine-dine-spa-in-napa-valley%e2%80%9499night
    nuevo-vallarta-%e2%80%93-no-brainer-mexican-getaway
    momondocom-%e2%80%93-european-flight-comparison-concierge

Because of these characters (%e2%80%93), I am facing 404 page error problem in the permalink

  • I can confirm this. The Norwegian character ?, ? and ? are not replaced when creating a URL based on the post title. This is actually quit annoying. Anyone with a solution to this?

    same problem for me

for some reason the apostrophs (’) in permalinks get replaced by %e2%80%99 which is actually : a€?
Probably some other charaters also get strange replacements judging by the message of topicstarter. The problem ain’t there for the post content or title, just for permalinks. When i go back to manage a post the permalink is actually saved with %e2%80%99 characters, but i cant seem to reach the pages.

    Same problem here. Help pls.
