• Is it possible to manually add an alt description for the hero background image? I know I would have to readd it manually for each update. Still curious.

I looked at the code and I see some fancy loading going on for the hero image. Very different from subpages where alt can be/are automaticallly added via the WP admin.

Anyway, if it possible to manually copy it in, I would be happy to learn how.

The hero images should be decorative and implemented in CSS, is that not the case?

Yes, the hero image works fine. Let me try and be more clear:

    1. Is there a way to hardcode img alt for the hero image into the very template, since it does not grab and add these from the ones I have added to the photo in the media library.

In other words, can I add a “sticky” alt description in the front page template, so the hero background image also has HTML img alt tags available?

I realize, if this is doable, that changing the photo means the hardcoded alt=”blah bla” sticks, until manually updated, accordingly.

Anyway, I hope I this got the cotton pout of my mouth and that it makes more sense…

    Hi @fxfxfx,

It is impossible in this case. Because we are using the Backstretch jquery as Hero slideshow. And it doesn’t allow you add alt tag in image source.

    Hope you understand.

    Cheers.
