Relevanssi Highlighting Problems

We’re running into an issue with Relevanssi highlighting the matching search term within the HTML source code which is breaking anchors and images. For example, when search for “400-9290” and going to the page from the results returned, this is the HTML for the section with the matching term:

400-9290</span>1.jpg”>400-9290</span>” src=”https://www.waterwayplastics.com/wp-content/uploads/rope_anchorassy_<span class=’highlight-search-term’>400-9290</span>1.jpg” alt=”” width=”223″ height=”200″>

It appears that Relevanssi is wrapping the matched term in <span class=”highlight-search-term”></span> as it should, but is there a way to have it not apply it within HTML tags?
