• After some time indicating it works, weither analyzing or creating a backup, it just stops, leaving an empty page. No analysis result, and a backup clearly way smaller than the whole

    Despite the absence of some kind of progress indicator (regenerate thumbnails has a handy tool), I’m quite sure it’s not intended.

    Things which may have something to do with this :
    The very large size of my library (a few thousand pictures with each several thumbnails)
    Server not very powerful (though it handled regenerating thumbnails)

    I’d really like this plugin to work to clean up my wordpress install ; however I won’t take the risk of launching regeneration if it fails to simply count how many thumbnails there are.

  • Same here.
    The backup zip file size ended up as 233MB (corrupted file) while folder size is 4.5GB…
    Tested on a powerful dedicated server.

    Hi and excuse the late reply.

    Yes, this definitely looks like something is not working as it should. As you already said, please do not clean your thumbnails if the backup fails or creates a corrupted archive. Freeing disk space is not worth losing any files.

    Unfortunately, the way the backup archive is being created is not that sophisticated. I’ve planned to redesign this process so that there’s no timeout and the chance that an archive ends up being corrupted is as low as possible.

    Unfortunately, the lack of time and not having enough users that are willing to test this on different systems have slowed this down. I know how important it is not to lose any uploaded files, that’s why I don’t want to publish a new version unless it has been thoroughly tested.

    You can help me solving this a bit faster by giving me some details of your server. The easiest way would be creating a .php file with the following content and sending me the output privately to [email protected]:

    <?php
       phpinfo();

    I’m having this issue when I run the backup function as well…
