First load of website is stale

  • Hi all,

    I’m having a rather odd issue that I cannot seem to resolve, no matter what I try.

    The site that I run, https://vtvblijdorp.nl/ since a few weeks shows a stale home page when a clean Safari (9 and 10) hits the site. Only after force reload, it shows an actualised homepage. Even plugin data (google calendar link) shows stale information from weeks ago.

    This behaviour doesn’t happen with Chrome, or in Edge, it shows a fresh homepage (weirdly, in Edge it shows a stale, then a fresh homepage). I have a suspicion it has something to do with the switch of caching plugins (WP Super cache to w3 Total cache) I did a few weeks ago.

    The following I’ve tried, without results;

    ? Cleared local caches in all browsers I tried.
    ? Cleared all caches from W3 Total cache
    ? Disabled all plugins
    ? Removed W3 Total cache and reinstalled WP Super cache

    My questions are; does anybody recognise this behaviour and know or hint at the fix?
