• I am using all current versions of www.remarpro.com and Subscribe2. I am self hosting with GoDaddy on a Linux server, running the jkreative lite theme. I have less than 50 subscribers and no conflicting plugins according to the list I found on this forum.

Automatic emails after postings have been going just fine until about a month ago, now they are going to the Junk Mail folders for my subscribers. I have the Restrict the number of recipients per email set to 0 for unlimited and the emails are sent from my blog site: [email protected].

I thought the email was not being sent at all until one of my subscribers found it in her junk mail folder and let me know.

    Any idea why?

Junk email filters scan lots of different things in order to flag an email as potential junk. Most filters use a scoring system too and the higher the score the more likely it is to be consider spam.

One simple thing you can try is setting the number of recipients per email to 1, this means the plugin will send the email direct to the recipient rather than using the BCC email header. This should immediately make it look less like spam.

Other things to consider are the content of the email in terms of keywords and the number of links it contains.

you might also want to display a message on your site at the time of sign-up advising your subscribers to add your email to their address book.

I’m experiencing the same issue. Nothing changed in our environment in the past couple of weeks, but since Friday of last week several blog users have reported that WordPress emails for blog posts, etc are now being sent to their junk folders. In our instance, the mails are set to send to one recipient already, so that isn’t the cause of the issue for us. Any other thoughts on what could be causing this? Thanks!

If nothing else has changed on your server then it might still be related to your servers spam reputation. If your server has been associated with a spike in spam emails it’s reputation will drop and your usual emails may still score high enough to be tagged as spam.

As above, get your subscribers to add your sending email address to their address book and it might be worth checking your servers reputation:
