Post’s with html tags in title not appearing

  • Hey there,

    I’ve inherited a website that was running WordPress v3.1 and List Category Posts v0.18.3 that couldn’t be updated for various reasons. I’ve migrated it over to an updated server running WordPress 4.6.1 and updated List Category Posts to v0.70 but now any post with an tag in the title won’t appear in the category list. When I remove the tags from the title, they suddenly appear.

    I’m sure I’m missing something quite obvious. Unfortunately the tags are necessary in some titles due to referencing book titles in a larger essay title etc.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

  • Hi, can you show us the catlist call you are making and an example of a title that doesn’t show?
    I can understand that things could get muddled if LCP is being asked to output HTML which points to the post which itself has an a tag in it, but I can’t see how it wouldn’t show at all.
    Is it possible that the old LCP code was modified by the previous developer to get round this problem?

    Hey there!

    My apologies for not replying sooner. I managed to discover the issue was in relation to the theme I was running. There was an updated version of the theme and that fixed my issue. Still not sure what caused the issue in the first place but now that it’s fixed I’m not too concerned about it anymore haha.
