I am having trouble getting the plugin to over-write my genesis framework with showcase pro child theme. I tried setting up my two text widgets to be side by side with the following settings:
1st text widget: one half + “first”
    2nd text widget one half.

For some reason, they are not showing up side by side. Any help? Do I need to edit my style.css?
    The website link is: https://www.kuwahara-phan.com

    Thank you!

To clarify: its for the google review and the google maps to be side by side. Thank you in advance.

    Hi @phanendo,

    I’m currently not at home.
I’ll check in 4-5 hours ok?

    Thanks, Jory

    Hi @phanendo,

I’ve checked your link and the issue is as follows:

The widget area you’ve put the two widgets in forces these widgets to a 100% width and this overwrites the column widths.
The cause of this is de class flexible-widgets.

In the case of your theme you shouldn’t use the flexible widget-areas if you want to use this plugin since these widget-areas will overwrite the column class styles.

An other option would be to (instead of using this plugin) use the theme options to set the widget widths. This will however require you to do some CSS additions while with this plugin you can simply change this in the widget options.

In short, this plugin can help you manage all your widgets styles within the WP admin instead of CSS, but only if you change the way the sidebars are placed so the theme won’t overwrite anything.

Since you use a StudioPress theme I’d advice not to change the theme CSS since this will be overwritten with an update. Is there a way in the theme settings to change the output of the “flexible” sidebars?

I see you’ve got the plugin working in the footer.
I’m closing this issue for now because it seems you’ve worked it out.

If you need help, feel free to reopen this issue and ask me!
