Creating my own theme

  • I’m trying to create a theme of my own.

    I was planning to start by taking one of the default themes and modifying it.

    Would it be better to do this with the old style default theme or the Kubrik one?

    Or would another simple theme be a better place to start?

  • sandbox its a good one also there is starkers theme they are both empty-css templates so you can really start just giving classes and stuff

    Starting with a blank CSS powered theme would probably be the easiest way to begin theme development unless you’re comfortable working with a theme that is already developed.

    The SandBox Theme is probably one of the most basic, but most widely used WordPress Themes that developers use as a base for their themes.
