• God, WordPress can be frustrating. The new 2.6 talks about the “Press This” feature but it seems useless. Easy enough to install the Press This button in your browser, but after that, you don’t have a clue on how to use it.

    Here is an example.

    I. I browse to a site and I press the Press This button in my browser (firefox).

    2. Up pops WP window with 4 tabs: Text, Photo, Quote, Video

    3. Now What?. If I press the Text Tab all you see is a URL to the site. If I press the Photo Tab, insert a photo, than press the Qute Tab, the photo is gone. Isn’t it suppose to accumulate the data from each tab so when I hit save, it saves all the data from each tab to WP. If so, I can’t get it to work that way. Instead, if I insert a Photo, next press the Quote Tab and Press save, all that is saved to WP is the quote. What happen to the photo I inserted at the Photo Tab.

Are the tabs not to work together or can you only use them individually? Usually when you try to find help on WP docs, they talk about the feature but do not provide instructions on how to use it. Like I said, frustrating.

  • It happens to me too, Sometimes I prefer not even use it because instead of saving me time just make the job of posting harder ?? hope the improve this feature

The tabs are intended to represent different modes of posting. Text, Photo, Quote, or Video. Click which tab you feel is what you want to quickly post. Does that make more sense?
