search term with apostrophe not working

    Hi Mikko,

    Love your plugin. But I encountered something strange. When searching for L’Avenir, I get no results. But I know there’s a post titled L’Avenir, so it should return this post. Now when I search for Avenir it does return this post. I know that Relevanssi replaces the ‘ with a space and I also looked at the common.php file already, but I can’t figure this out. Sorry if you already answered this question somewhere, but I can’t seem to find it.

    I noticed the default WordPress search has the same behaviour by the way.

    I just tested this, and searching for “L’Avenir” works just fine. Relevanssi sees it as “L Avenir” and discards the “L” because it’s too short.

    That’s how it should work, at least.

    Have you made any changes to Relevanssi settings or do you have custom filters in use? Have you tried switching to one of the default themes or disabling other plugins?

    Thank you for the quick reply Mikko! I’ll check for custom filters and try switching to default theme or disabling other plugins.

    I now realize that because the default WordPress search behavior has the same problem, it probably isn’t related to Relevanssi anyway… right?

    It’s possible, yes. This should work with the default search as well.

    I can’t seem to find it. Disabling plugins does not help, but there is no problem in the default theme, so I guess it’s a conflicting custom filter or something like that. Since I didn’t build the theme completely by myself I’m now having some trouble locating it.

    I’m marking this as resolved, because the issue is probably unrelated to Relevanssi. Thanks for your excellent support!
