• When you search for a plugin (beit new or already installed) and you start typing then use your mouse to click on one of the options in auto complete it automatically submits before I’m able to click on the auto complete. Get rid of this please, this is SOOOOO annoying!!

  • I’ll try and help @skulldragon.

First of all, where are you searching? On the wp.org site or from within your installation? If the former, which browser and platform are you on? I ask because on the site I get no auto complete option and from within a WP installation there is no selection – it just goes ahead and start searching as you type.

    Yes, I agree with skulldragon.

Using Chrome and searching for a new plugin via the plugin installer in WordPress. Chrome provides recommended suggestions based on what I have typed in the past. Since I install many of the same plugins on every site, I usually type the first couple of letters and then arrow down to the appropriate search phrase.

However, since the page auto-refreshes faster than I can select the form field suggestion, the suggestion goes away and I receive irrelevant plugin results.

Two easy suggestions to fix the problem
    1) A longer delay from the time I stop typing to the time WordPress displays recommended plugin results. Give me a second or two to finish the word because WordPress plugin search doesn’t provide accurate results with partial words.

    2) A checkbox in the “help” at the top of the Plugin search page that allows me to disable the ajax-submission of the plugin search field. That way I can just turn it off completely.

Hope that helps clarify the problem.
