• When installing and testing several themes I got this error msg

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home/colegio/public_html/skoleavisen/wp-content/themes/maggie-lite/inc/maggie-functions.php on line 690

I have searched this and all the solutions want to go into the source with FTP program and either delete the template or edit the init file .htm???

I have no posibility to use FTP to this server.

    What todo ??

  • Can you reach your Dashboard? Is there any possibility of you gaining FTP access or do you have access to cPanel or something similar?

I have now FTP access. What is the next step ?

Sorry for the late reply. Now that you have FTP access, you can delete the maggie-lite theme folder, which will switch you back to the default Twenty Sixteen theme and allow you access to your Dashboard again.

For your actual issue with the theme, which version of PHP are you running? Looking at the theme’s code, it uses an anonymous function on line 690, which wasn’t supported until PHP 5.3. You may need to ask your host how to upgrade your PHP version.

    Sorry stephencottontail
I had to delete everything and start from scratch. It is up and running again.
But, if I see anyone that have the same problem, I will give them an answer as fast as I can. I know how much it hurt to sit there and have problems.
Thank you very much for reply.
p.s. the WP and PHP was the very last one.
