If you can’t get it work, but might be a problem with yourself and not with the plugin. Everybody else can make it work. Maybe you’re just too stupid to use it, hence your 1 star.

Its good practice to try and solve any plugin issues by posting in the support forums, before posting reviews. One star reviews can be quite hurtful to a plugin. That said, thaikolja, I think your response is harsh, especially considering that several people are facing problems activating your plugin – they can’t possible all be stupid.

I hope you’ll get the issue fixed, and that globalexposures will give your plugin a second try – it sure is useful.

    Dear Bjarne,

My reply was as harsh as her “question”. In fact, she did not even ask any question, she just came here to rant. What people like her tend to forget is that all plugins on www.remarpro.com are for free, and many developers, including me, still put a lot of effort in it as you can see in the reviews of this my other plugins. I even offer one-on-one support where I login into the user’s server and fix their errors myself, again, for free.

I could implement annoying ads into my plugins, make the main function commercial or make money off of them in any other way, but I chose not to because I want the user to enjoy my work. Besides doing free plugins, I also have other clients that actually do pay for my work, and those simply have a higher priority because they’re the ones that pay my rent and my food.

If after all of my efforts providing good quality, free and easy to use plugins one day end up in a bug, then I expect people to make me aware of this, as so many others did in the forum, in a direct but still polite matter. However, destroying an overall decent plugin with a 1 star rating because of one single bug is something I find highly disrespectful.

I don’t expect much from users at all. The only I’d like to see is some respect – or at least the absence of disrespect, which globalexposures did not show. She chose to insult me and damage my reputation because she expects that it is my job to provide her with flawlessly working plugins for free. And this I do not accept.

Actually, I came back less than ten minutes later and updated my review with a five star rating, explaining that I had discovered that it really DID work as described. I don’t know why WordPress didn’t record that. But I did update my review only minutes later.

As I said, there indeed is a bug; I tested it myself. It happened when I used a new application to upload the new version to www.remarpro.com’s plugin’s directory. It mixed old files with new once, hence the duplicate declaration of functions. It’s an easy fix which I’m working on and, while I’m at it, also take care of other small bugs and visual corrections.

What I just found rude was the 1 star for a bug that, if you would have given me five minutes of time, would have been fixed. I’d even have fixed it myself on your server. But instead, you decided to destroy the rating of my plugin, which I find not nice considering that I and every other developer on here offer their work for free.

I hope you understand my harsh reaction. I’ll upload an update probably today that solves this issue definitely. However, if there’s always the chance that new bugs come up. That’s what this forum is for (and not the review section), and if you look through the support posts of my plugins, you’ll see that I gave my very best to try and solve even the smallest bugs.

@mom2nine Give it a try again, you may have hit the spam filter before.

Just out of curiosity: Are you mods randomly browsing threads to find people having problems with your website or is there some kind of system filtering out those posts based on an algorithm?

We use a complicated automated algorithm: After having coffee (or while starting coffee) a moderator will personally read all reviews going back 24 hours. ??

Thanks for updating your rating, @globalexposures. I really do appreciate it that you changed or view. I’m about to release a new version, but before I do and you still have this error, please refer to this temporary fix.
