how to Upgrade to last arabic wordpress?

    how can i upgrade to the newest arabic wordpress?
    ==in new wordpress help file i read this:::
    Delete your old WP files, saving ones you’ve modified.
    Upload the new files.
    Point your browser to /wp-admin/upgrade.php.
    =====
    Delete the old wp files?…if i delete the old wordpress files and upload the new files this is not upgrade then….this is fresh copy!
    is this right?
    so i will lose all my post?…or what can i do?
    and is the new wp better than the old?
