Hi,

It’s pretty simple:
1) I use a static homepage (the option is accessible when you customize the look & feel of your website) then:
– with the main langage this homepage is accessible at the adress “root/”.
– with another langage it fails (=’Nothing Found’) to load the page at the adress “root/?lang=xx_YY”.
(this problem has already been reported here)

2) When you customize the look & feel of the menus of your website there is no option to set a specific title per langage.
(according to this post you won’t correct this: am I wrong?)

3) The site title cannot be changed for other langage that the main one: maybe should I pay for this?… I don’t know but anyway I won’t regarding to the other problems with that plugin.
(you told you were working on this problem here: what about it?)

4) When I edit a static page content:
– first I set the main langage content (title + content of the page).
– I save what I did.
– second I set another langage content (title + content of the page).
– I save what I did, and now I can see the 2 langage contents (main and the other one) are egal to my last changes (= the other langage content).
Please note that it doesn’t happen 100% of the time but frequently enough to say the plugin is unusable…

1) We’ve installed static homepage and tried to switch languages. All works correctly. Please describe your actions (after which the problem occurs) step by step.
2) The menu will be translated automatically if it is a standard menu that consists of the existing pages (it is taken from page title for selected language). An ability to translate custom menu is available in Multilanguage Pro – https://bestwebsoft.com/products/multilanguage/ .
3) An ability to create translations for Site Title and Tagline is also available in Pro version.
4) Do use standard post editor or the custom one? Since sometimes this problem can occur because of custom post editor.

1) Here are the steps:
– create a static page
– translate the page
– set up this page as the static homepage (as previously described)
– see it only works with the main langage of the page (as previously described)

2 & 3) Ok, but regarding at the others faulty features I guess I won’t take the risk to get the ‘pro’ version.

4) I use the standard editor…

1) We’ve followed your steps, but still it’s impossible to reproduce the problem. Could you provide a link to the page where it occurs, please?

4) It is possible that there is a conflict with your current theme or some of your plugins. To detect the possible reason, please:
a) Try activating a standard WordPress theme for a while (Twenty Fourteen, Twenty Fifteen) and check if the problem remains.
b) Try deactivating all of your plugins except Multilanguage and also check if the problem is still present. If it is not, activate the plugins one-by-one, meanwhile checking, after which plugin activation the problem appears again.
