Just installed this plug-in…….works great so far

After reading the issues that some people have had with this plug-in, I proceeded very cautiously with the install. The first thing I did was to pull up 3 different browsers and logged into my cPanel, and the admin account on the 2 remaining browsers. I installed the plug-in and the first thing I did after activating the plug-in, was to make backups of the DB, .htaccess, and the wp-config files. I went into the cPanel and downloaded the backup files to my desktop.

I then slowly proceeded to enable all of the basic settings. After I did that, I logged out from my other browser and see if I could log in again. Everything worked fine.

I then went through each section of the plug-in enabling features that were important to me, such as protecting .htaccess and wp-config. Whether or not it was a basic or intermediate setting, after I set it, I went back to my other browser to make sure I could still log in. At this point I have not touched any advanced settings and I am sitting at a comfortable 175 out of a possible 470 achievable points. I will let the site run for a few weeks and then I will readdress some of the advanced settings that would make sense for me.

In case anyone is interested, I have an e-commerce site with WooCommerce and using the Divi Theme for the front end. The overall speed of the site is great right now and I feel much better that it is now protected by enhanced security features.

Prior to this I was using WordFence which I thought was great until it just stopped working for me. It stopped downloading the free access key, for a number of users. Support is still working on a fix from what I can see.

I am happy so far that I found this amazing plug-in for free!
