• I have been a long time user of Yoast SEO (since 2012) but with the recent updates they have just about killed their plugin.

After a bit of research I came across The SEO Framework and decided to give it a go.

As soon as I installed it (and removed shitty Yoast) I noticed a huge increase in page loading speed, after running my site through GTMatrix I had lost over 1 second in load time (3 seconds down to 2). That just goes to show how bloated the Yoast plugin is!

Not only that after 24 hours I have jumped up in the SERPs on almost all keywords some as much as 70 spots!

I highly recommend this plugin I am amazed that I hadn’t discovered this sooner.

Keep up the great work and PLEASE don’t go down the same path as yoast and his disciples trying to take over the world. Keep it simple it works!

    Cheers

  • That’s absolutely correct.

After that last Yoast snafu with the version upgrade that took my first three sites down and forced me to sign up with some other crowd just in Germany, in order to get rid of the crap Yoast had thrown in there and not tested adequately.

I have been talking about doing it for years, but that was the and for me, and I have uninstalled Yoast SEO on over 60 sites and installed the SEO Framework on all of them.

Sometimes in life you just have to get through the kakah in order to get to the good stuff.

I have uninstalled Yoast too. I also used it for years, and didn’t notice how bad it had gotten (other than the annoying, sticky alerts about updates and changes). 240 PHP files? Jesus. The SEO Framework uses 24 PHP files, not to mention the development is done in the open on GitHub. And you can actually talk to the author!

Thanks, BTW, Terence, you recommended The SEO Framework to me in some comments on a WPTavern article. ??

One of my goals with this plugin is to improve upon itself – so please keep me informed if anything isn’t according to liking :).
