Cool plugin, important features not in free version

  • There are several plugins with stunning features like this that in “pro” version offers more non-standard feature and premium support.

    The problem with that plugin is that it doesn’t work like these. Some important features are out from free version, making it almost useless unless you buy the pro version, like sitemap integration -the last one I experienced- , substitution for zero prices/measurement and so on.

    The system is slightly slow but if the plugin would be a charm it may be a minor problem: in that case without the premium version results quite useless because cant’ be used properly in any web site due to several limitations and slow speed.

    If you’re a big agency the cost may be worth, but for little enterprises is extremely overpriced: search for something elese in that case because you will lack basic free functionalities.

    Hoping for future free implementation.
    Support is good, maybe too good for free version. Maybe give that support for pro version and leave mor features free can be better.

    There is no such thing as providing ‘too good support’ – even if it is for the free version. This is the reason for a 2 out of 5 stars?

    It is obvious that we sell the pro version to provide ‘good support’ for the free version and that’s how we fund and arrange the support and updates for the free users. So we would hope that there is some sense of appreciation from our free WordPress users who enjoy many features that we have released for them in this package. We will NOT transfer the PRO features to the free version. Otherwise, there will be no reason to purchase the pro version, then we can’t support the free version and you will be the first one to leave a 1 star review, because we can’t provide “good enough support” for the free version.

    We hired professional developers to assist in the support as well as keeping the free version updated. This costs us and any reasonable person can understand why.

    The package of features that are available in the free version are much more than any other plug-in in this category. We feel your rating is unfair. But we would like to thank you for your feedback.

    my rating is not about the plugin, that I defined “cool” till the title.
    the problem is: without important essential functions in free version, this plugin is as useful as a demo or an evaluation. So (as happened me) limitations came “on the road” after days of set-up and testing: that results in a “nothing done” or a pro buying.

    Maybe a more accurate description of the functionality only in pro can spare a lot of time and efforts, that’s the point.

    Starting the review stating that is a cool plugin and that the assistance is more than good was an input to read more accurately a motivation, not a critic “as it is”.

    If you think it can in any way hurt/create problems to you instead of being a rational feedback, I can remove it: most times I’ve learned more from critics that from compliments but you’ve the right to think it differently.
    Ask me without problems.

    We never claimed we have all of the features in the free version. We cleared what we have and what we don’t have in the free/pro version and that’s why we think your review is not fair. Specially 2 / 5 which is clearly a negative rating.

    All of the clients can see this transparency before downloading our free version.

    When we developed and supported a free software better than many paid plug-ins in the WordPress community, we expect more appreciation instead of a negative rating, which is lowering the average that we tried hard to achieve.

    We can’t ask you to remove or change your rating. You should decide it on your end. You are a developer yourself, and you know when you deliver a free work and you support it like this, what you should expect from your professional clients.
