• I used the plugin successfully for about a year. I run a collective of handmade shops (www.artizanmade.com) and was using the plugin to create galleries for our blog posts. Two updates ago, all of the images disappeared, meaning that I am going to have to re-do all of them. It takes a long time as each set has over 50 images with links to their sites.

    I had been using the plugin because I needed something that linked images to external links and the native WordPress galleries don’t give that option. The display was also more attractive than the WordPress ones.

    I found WP Gallery Custom Links, a plugin that adds links to gallery images using the WordPress media library and will now use that instead.

    So, use this plugin at your own risk. I hope you don’t have to go through the same thing, losing all of your work.

    Hi Rachel.
    It’s very bad to hear that you had some issue and get disappointed. The photos that you uploaded are stored in a different folder separately from plugin. So the update of the plugin could not cause the lose of any photo. Probably photos had been deleted from wp-content/uploads folder by other reason.

    Well, photos have disappeared from the plugin folders before and it was very hard to edit them. I should have realized that it was an unstable setup earlier. It always took a long time, waiting for the galleries to open up so that new images could be loaded. And, when I tried to edit collections, I could do a couple of sets and then the plugin would block me out. Yes. Very disappointing.

    @rachel Biel,

    We have responded to your message in forum thread. Please check it out. The images within Photo Gallery folder cannot be removed unless you do that manually within the Photo Gallery backend or the directory folder. We assume in your case we are dealing with removing them from directory folder (or renaming the folder which can cause breaking of the image links).
