Allowing users to create/manage their own public Gallery

  • I am looking for a way to allow my WP users to create and modify their own Gallery images. Ideally – I would like to allow each user the ability to create their own albums and upload/manage their own public pictures that all users and visitors can see. Is this some how a function of the Gallery feature or does this require some hacking? Or, is there a plugin for this? Please let me know. Thanks!

  • I would recommend installing Gallery2 on your server, and using the WPG2 plugin to integrate it into your site.

    Gallery2 is a standalone gallery system with very powerful functionality. Check out their feature list. Very powerful functionality to do with users, permissions, groups of users and permissions, etc.

    You can definitely do everything you’ve asked about with this solution. Check out their demo sites, or my own blog for a demo.

    Thanks Flammobammo, but I am looking for something that is a little simpler than that. I don’t really need all those features, and I see that the new 2.5 version of WP has its own gallery feature built in. Basically, I’m wondering if there is a plugin or already built-in functionality to allow each registered user of the site to create/manage/upload their own albums and pictures.

    Has anyone done anything like this?
