I’m looking for a good calendar option & this could be the one, except that I think it’s total BS to charge an annual rate for a add-on. I have no issue paying for a good plugin, but I’m not looking for a long term relationship here. Drop, the annuals & it’s another story.

  • Hey Kay,
I understand your frustration! Fortunately, you can download the add-on and use it just for one year if you want.
The reason we charge for some add-ons is so we can in keep FREE this calendar that you liked.
Honestly we would love to be able to offer all add-ons for free, but we’d be out of business and no free plugin ??
Did you encounter any major issues in the free core plugin that made you rate it with two stars
? Please let me know of and we’re happy to help!
Please also ping [email protected] for any subscriptions or pricing questions. Bradley will gladly help you out ??

    Hi Aristotel,

Thanks for your response, the core doesn’t provide what I’m looking for which is (front end posting), I saw it in the screenshot but the realized it was an add on. I have no issue with it being an add on, I would have gone with it, the problem I have it that it’s a subscription & I don’t want to tie my site to a service I know nothing about.

I’m new to building a website and I don’t want to get it all set up just to have to change it later, I also don’t want my users to get used to it then change it on them because you all increase the renewal price in a year. And last, $60 is insanely expensive for a ONE feature add on that has to be renewed in a year.

I’m looking for a calendar not a long term relationship, I rated the free one lower because (it alone) is not a “powerful set of features to create the most advanced calendar system available for WordPress” as suggested. :/

Kay, actually right now you can use the plugin freely after the first year, if you don’t realy need updates and support for it.
We have priced the “Front-end Submission” plugin as the lowest one available on the market for this functionality actually (competitors have it as a more expensive one). We’re even looking into a way to bring monthly plans into the plugin as well (we currently only have those on hosted).

I am really sorry to hear that you believe our plugin only deserves 2 stars, and that based on the amount of functionality it offers. We added into it more functionality that any other similar plugin has, and if the revenue supported by add-ons will offer us the chance we want to add even more functionality in it.
I would love to be able to convince you we deserve a better rating, and we’re limiting only what we really have to, but at the end of the day it’s your experience and review.
    I really appreciate your feedback.

Why would I pay $60 to use a calendar for a year? it makes absolutely no sense & it would mean my users getting used to it only to have to overhaul it and transfer all the data. No thanks, NOT worth it for any cost.
I also think you should know that your calendar actually does NOT have “the most features” nor it is the least expensive, believe me… I’ve been looking at allot of them, I wont identify them on here because that’s rude, but you’re welcome to email me and I’ll let you know.

In the end, its the subscription (& high cost of it) that I would need to actually make it work for my needs that is a deal breaker for me, you can add tons of “features” but if their not useful (in my case) they don’t count. So I’m not going to add a plugin that can’t be updated after a year, nor will I subject my users to instability of services because a plugin author decided 2 years down the road to increase the annual cost to a rate I’m not willing to pay.

You really need to consider that you’re asking people to stake the quality of their sites offerings on the fact that you’re not going to price gouge them once they have a heavy user base actively using the plugin.

It’s just not a good way to do business (for me) but it looks like it’s working out for you. If this ever changes are you begin charging flat rates, I’ll reconsider if I’m still in need but for now… That’s just how I see it.
