• I used this plugin quite happily until an upgrade last week. It then caused a php error and the site wouldn’t work if activated.

  • Yes,same thing happened to me!
It was working perfect until the WordPress 4.4 update was installed.
Now I have a Parse error and no more website!

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected

Here is a trick that will get you website back up temporarily (but with no Meta Tags):

Using FTP or File Manager from your host, you can change the name of the plugin. Go to wp-content/plugins/wp-meta-tags and change the name of the plugin (I put an “x” in front of it ex: xwp-meta-tags). This disables the plugin and lets you back in so you can get to the admin and it also gets rid of the parse error.

This is not a permanent fix!
After doing this you will now have no Meta Tags!

Personally I am waiting for support.
This way after they fix it, I wont have to start from scratch with all Meta Descriptions, Keywords, Titles, etc…

    Good luck!
