REVISED: has very few features in the free version
-
I read the first couple of paragraphs of the sales pitch on the page that comes up when you are researching plugins via the WP admin panel. The features I wanted were listed there so I downloaded and put together a slider with 28 images… only to find that the features I wanted that were talked about in the sales blurb are ONLY available in the PRO (paid) version. You have to read the entire page and all the bullet points to find out what you are getting. My bad.
For anyone else looking: you can’t put any text over the images, and no videos in the free version — these are the two features I wanted and thought I’d found. I did find those in another free slider, btw.
My side business since 2005 is WhizforHire.com, I do WordPress websites in a week, fast and cheap. I research and install tons of sites and plugins, reading tons of sales blurbs for plugins. While unintentioned, this blurb needs to be rewritten to make it clear from the get-go what is free and what is paid.
I also pay for plugins that work, are well-supported and have a history. I always start with free, learned my lesson the hard way there.
