How to remove a widget.

  • Hi I just installed the latest version of wordpress.

    I was playing around with the widgets and added the archive widget to sidebar.

    How do I remove the widget?

    This is what I did.

    I selected Sidebar Clicked Show
    The archive widget is then shown
    I clicked on edit
    Then I clicked remove
    Then I clicked Save Changes

    I then got

    You are using 0 widgets in the “Sidebar” sidebar.

    Add more from the Available Widgets section.

    But I can still see the same blue Archive Icon just below this message.

    And the widget is still shown on my blog.

    I also noticed that if I go to Sidebar 1 – There is a message that says.

    You are using 1 widget in the “Sidebar 1” sidebar.

    Add more from the Available Widgets section.

    But there aren’t any widgets shown there.

    Can someone help me?
