• even though my site operates in a single state and all visitors are also from the same state, apparently I am required still to set a timezone for the plugin and a timezine for every event that is created.

The program should be smart enough to see what timeezone the website is set to and use that as the default…

I found this out by creating events on a community website and then getting calls about programs that were scheduled to run during the day but the calendar was publishing them for 9PM at night?

  • Hello Shannon,

I have just tried it myself right now, and the event auto-fills the timezone with the one set for the website, and it displays it in the same way. Changed the timezone in my website settings few times and verified that when creating a new event right after the timezone is passed to the event.

If you have any other issues passing the timezone from website to new events, please raise a ticket in the forum page and Ben, our support colleague will help you out for sure.

Hope you’ll get this working and please let me know if there’s anything else we can help with.

Thank you for being a Time.ly user!

    Hey Shannon,

Were you able to successfully use the timezones?
So the calendar uses by default the website timezone, but as user raised requests, we added two more features:
    – ability to use a different timezone for the calendar than the one used by the website
    – ability to use a dedicated timezone for an event … if you need to.

Please let me know how the plugin works for you, and if you think we deserve a better rating ??

It is still a bit painful – I had to go into each individual event and set the timezone that way ( to match the website timezone )

It works but it wasn’t overly user friendly.

NOTE: I was already using the plugin – it wasn’t until after an upgrade of WP to latest version and the plugin to the latest version, did all the timezones go wrong.

Its a local website – everything is localised to their timezone except for some reason the calendar events…
