How to edit sidebar?

  • Can anyone tell me how to fix this…I have upload a theme and it looks good – but when i come to edit it, none of the changes appear?

    I want to get rid of the sidebar AFTER Pages on https://website-host.biz I spend 2 hours this evening and none of the changes have taken! I’m pulling my hair out! I also need to delete the image showing a computer and a family tree near title of pages.

    If anyone can tell me, I’d appreciate it.

  • If you use widgets, don’t look at the sidebar.php, but under “design” “widgets” in the WP admin.
    If you don’t use widgets, I always have to change themes to default and back to my own theme before changes appear.

    I don’t use any widgets, changed to default then changed back to new theme, still not changed.

    You don’t use widgets and nothing happens when you edit the sidebar.php?

    What do you see when you go to “design” and “widgets” in your WP admin?

    Do you edit the sidebar.php with the theme editor or on your computer and FTP it to your server?
