• I’m not sure why this isn’t included in all the “best related posts plugin” articles, as it’s easily one of the best. I tried out a heap of them (unable to use Jetpack’s) and ended up coming back to this one, as it has the best combination of styling and retrieving actual related posts. The developer is also really responsive and helpful, which always makes a big difference.
I had a small issue where when I changed the featured image the related post wasn’t updated, the developer suggesting deleting the plugin and reinstalling, and after doing that a few time it seems to work now. My only criticism would be to have more options for styling.

    Hi Trixee,

    Thank you for the review.

You have complete flexibility to style the posts since it is a standard list format and can be styled by CSS.

I’ve included the default styles because it’s something that people like. You can always disable the default styles and add your own styles in the Custom Styles box.

I’m working on more styles in the background and this might find it’s way as a paid addon to the plugin in the future.

OK I’ve figured out the styles thing, thank you. This is inching ever closer to 5 stars with the latest updates. The “display latest posts” checkbox on each post and page is a huge timesaver if you don’t want that post to display related posts. In a similar vein, I would like to see a similar option that allows you to exclude that post from appearing in related posts. This would be nice as I keep forgetting to add page IDs to the exclusion list in the plugin settings.
The other thing I would like to see is for the Manual Related Posts option, an option where you can supply say 1 post ID that you really want to include, and then have the CRP plugin automatically fill in the remaining related posts.
I’ve also figured out how to use Clear Cache (click when thumbnails are broken or you’ve changed the featured image) and Reindex (click when you want to refresh the related articles list).
Overall, one of my favourite plugins, thank you so much.

On the first option, I’ll be implementing that in the next major version i.e. 2.3

Regarding the second point, that is a good idea, but It’s not an easy bit of coding so I’d most likely include this into a paid addon as well.
