We applied and were approved in short order, then within a day, we were notified that our account had been cancelled and we were locked out of our newly created Simplify account. Simplify obtained my personal social security number and our business tax id, and our bank account numbers, approved the account, and then turned around and shut us down. Fortunately, we had not processed any payments with them, so we lost nothing but our time installing and configuring the pluggin and creating Simplify Commerce account. We have a stellar credit rating. We have been with PayPal payments pro for nearly ten years with not a single charge back.

This was the message we received: Our partner, Priority Payment Systems, has notified us that after a recent review of your account and after careful consideration they have elected to exercise their right to cancel their Merchant Processing Agreement with your company. You should receive a letter directly from Priority Payment Systems with further details.

Based on this decision by Priority Payment Systems, this email will serve as Simplify Commerce’s notification of its election to terminate your use of Simplify Commerce effective immediately. This termination in no way affects your obligation, as detailed in the Priority Payment Systems Merchant Services Program Guide, which survives termination.

In follow up, I made a call to Priority Payment Systems, and they answered the phone right away, but their agents, though nice, are very unknowledgeable. The agent had a little kid crying in the background, crying for “mama, mama” – real professional like. Eventually, the agent informed me that we were cancelled because we had a donation link on our site (This was a PayPal donation link, nothing to do with the Simplify pluggin) and that our account had been terminated because of this. We were terminated just like that – without them even asking us to take the donation link down – no courtesy notice whatsoever.

I explained this to the agent and she said she would see about having my account reinstated and promised to call me back within 24 hours. She never called, so I phoned again and another agent said she would have original agent call me right away. I still never heard back from anyone.

In short, extremely poor service. If you want to offer up your social security number, tax id number, and your bank account number only to get the run around . . . well, then go ahead and try your luck. For us, we’ll stay with the trusted companies who provide us with excellent customer service: PayPal and Amazon Payments Advanced.

  • Hi, This plugin only provides an option to accept payment via the simplify gateway. We are not in any way associated with that payment gateway. So I am not sure why you are giving our plugin a poor rating when you had the issue with the payment gateway (not this plugin).

First, we still never received a response from Simplify Commerce. We only receive your defense and deniability of the problem on your behalf and with the only payment gateway your plugging utilizes, so this is your problem, this make this a problem with your pluggin and people thinking about contracting with the payment gateway associated with your plugging need to know about the ineptness of this pluggin and gateway. So, yes, still very poor service on behalf of your organization and pluggin that then refers potential users of your pluggin to give away there sensitive information such as social security numbers and tax id numbers, only to have there service cancelled without legitimacy. Sounds like a way to harvest information for identity theft, and Simplify Commerce is aiding them in this process. Perhaps it is time for Simplify Commerce to offer a more reputable payment gateway.

    Dude… Really?

The developer of this plugin is not an employee of MasterCard. They make this stuff and offer it for free out of kindness. You obviously have no idea how WordPress works. You post on here for plugin comments. Not business. Especially when the business and the plugin creator are unrelated. Not everyone who makes plugins for companies is a contractor or employee or affiliated with them in any way.

Your issues can’t be resolved here and I hope there is some process in order where your review is reported and removed.

    So once again…

THE PLUGIN IS NOT THE ORGANIZATION AND NOT AFFILIATED WITH THEM.

this plugin only works with a single payment gateway – so it is affiliated with them by default. if additional payment gateways were offered, then it would be another story.

people need to know about the problems with this plugin and payment gateway provider.

why would you want this review reported and removed – when in fact it could help a lot of people from falling prey to the same or similar problems?

@fisherkingpress I’ve decapped your reply, please do not do that again.

If you want to have a reasoned conversation with nice, soothing platitudes then please do. If you’re going to use all caps, that’s akin to shouting and I’ll close this review down.

It is also important to note that though MasterCard is referenced as the payment gateway, it is not actually MasterCard, but instead Priority Payment Systems who is providing the payment service. We still have not heard back from Simplify Commerce or from Priority Payment Systems. No effort has been made to resolve this problem.

Are complaint is not with the developer of this pluggin, but with the reliability and credibility of the Simplify Commerce & Priority Payment Systems, with their lack of service and professionalism in returning an email or phone call.
