Changing the theme

  • Help!
    How can you change the theme of your blog, if you think it is not working the way it looks? When you change the theme, if you can, do you lose all of the information you have posted or placed on it? For example your links, opt in boxes, etc.

  • No, when you change the theme, you just change the way it looks, preserving the content. If you’re not using widgets, the sidebar contents might be different, but nothing is deleted.

    Franklin, from what I see on your site, you’re editing the wrong files.

    The index.php that lives in the same directory as your wp-config.php is not a file you change or edit. Additionally, themes need to be uploaded to wp-content/themes/
