• My site has completely locked me out.

My blog is still showing at https://scottyzee.com but I cannot log in.

My password won’t be accepted and then when i go to password retrieval it come back with this error message:

The e-mail could not be sent.
Possible reason: your host may have disabled the mail() function…

    What does this mean?

  • Did you read the sticky?

    I just read it, thanks.

There are a couple of options I could try there, like the phpmyadmin option or MySQL,
but I am not a very capable tech guy. I don’t know how to do the phpmyadmin, I can’t understand the instructions. The MySQL one I am afraid I will stuff it up, and still find it hard to read the instructions.

Besides, why would I be getting an error message saying the host may have disabled the email function? Is my host the server?

If someone is willing to help me through one of the above options I am willing to have a go. I want to fix this ASAP.

    Please..

Did you read all the links in the post (and the links in the articles)? There’s little that I can add! I suppose you’ll have something like PHPmyAdmin a cPanel or control panel login that you got from your host. It’s the place where you created your database, where you can read the error logs, make email users, etc. After having logged in there, follow the instructions for resetting password via PHPmyAdmin/etc.
