    WooCommerceだけなら日本語もぼ完璧に表示されるのに、WPML関係のプラグインを入れると日本語を英語に「翻訳」してくれます。明らかに動作がおかしいです。英語のページに日本語が出たり、逆に日本語のページに英語が出たりします。インストールの順序によって挙動が変わりますが、何回クリーンインストールしてもうまくいきません。
    サポートと1か月ほどやりとりしてもまったくわかりません。環境を3つ程作りましたが、アクセスがあったのは1つだけです。ひどすぎます。こちらは何回も環境を作ってはインストールしているというのに???。挙句の果てには「インストールするだけ。何が問題なの?」と下の方に書かれています。文化の違いなのですね。品質が悪すぎます。どなたかいいソフトがあれば教えてください。

    The software is far below release quality and has critical problem. WooCommerce has almost perfect translation in Japanese and works fine in Japanese. But once you install WPML plugins, it “translates” Japanese to English which is obviously unnecessary. In result, I have Japanese strings in English page and English strings in Japanese page. This is not my fault because I prepared new WordPress environments and installed many times. The support guy says this is “expected behavior”. I kept asking him almost 2 weeks but he didn’t have any solutions.

    I’m sorry that you had a bad experience with our plugin. I can assure you that we’re working hard to make sure that situations like this are avoided but it’s not always working out.

    In your case it could be the case of a miscommunication rather than a critical problem that you said we ignored.

    Can you please ask for that ticket that you created (I couldn’t find it) to be escalated directly to the developers? You can reference this note there.

    We’ll address this situation right away and maybe we can work out the issues that you experience.

    I see that there multiple issues discussed together in one ticket there. That might have caused some confusion.

    With regards to WooCommerce Multilingual, yes, we do have a limitation (we don’t think of it as a bug) that the strings are entered in the string English.

    Then there’s another WPML recommendation about using English for the strings language. This is because most of the themes, plugins use English for the texts included in the gettext calls.

    This means that it’s recommended that strings are entered in English in the backend for WooCommerce Multilingual. Then you can translate them to Japanese. There shouldn’t be any problems. If there are maybe you can open a ticket with just this specific issue. And try to open separate tickets for any separate issues.

    The question can be gathered into one simple question. How can I install WooCommerce after installation of WPML with Japanese edition of WordPress without translating any strings?
    I can’t separate this simple question anymore. If you think I’m asking separate issues, please divide issues and open different tickets for me.

    The answer to this would be that you should be able to install it normally. just like you would install it after WPML. What problems do you have when you do that? I think you said that you get the Japanese strings ‘translated’ to English.

    Under ‘Theme and plugins localization’, do you have the option ‘Translate using .mo files.’ turned on?

    Your supporter did. He should have divided them into separate topics.

    I gave a test site for your guys already. Right now, some Japanese strings are English. These strings are fine if I install WooCommerce only. This happens when I install WPML before WooCommerce.

    Actually, Mikuni, I suggest that we do not debug this here. Will follow up with it on the support ticket.

    I think that source of the issues that you are reporting is the fact that we have this requirement that the strings entered in the admin are entered in the string language and not in the default language.
    This is because (for now) we can have only one source language for all strings.

    We do plan to handle this in the future but I’m afraid that until then, the way to handle this involves entering all strings in the strings language (which is usually English)
