• Did you have Jetpack installed when you updated to WP 4.2?

Did you experience the ugly message: Something has gotten mixed up! caused by Jetpack? Are you still struggling to get all your sites fixed up so that your admin page doesn’t look like it’s been hacked? Are you waiting for WP 4.2.1 in the hopes someone can fix this mess?

    I am.

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

I’m sorry to hear you’ve run into issues.

That’s indeed a known issue, and we’ll get this fixed in the next Jetpack release, 3.5.1. You can follow our progress here:
    https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/issues/2016

In the meantime, you should be able to make the notice disappear and fix the problem by following these instructions:

    1. Go the Jetpack menu in your dashboard
    2. Scroll down to the bottom of the page
    3. Click on “Disconnect from WordPress.com”
    4. Once you’ve done so you’ll be able to reconnect to WordPress.com by clicking on the connect button at the top of the page.

If that doesn’t help, send us an email and let us know your site URL, and we’ll get it fixed for you!

    Thanks!

Having the same issue. Clicking on the options did nothing. But reconnecting, and losing all my history fixed it. Bummer.

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

@clwill If you let me know your site URL or send me an email, I can get you your stats and subscribers back.

Thank you! It’s aacasouthflorida.club. Would love to have them back!

To further clarify, we had aaca.clwill.com as a test/staging site. We went to make it live and moved to aacasouthflorida.club. Since then I’ve been getting these announcements.

I have tried, on both the staging site and the live site to choose either the “ignore the difference” link or the “that used to be” link (as appropriate) and neither link seemed to do anything — either in the fact that nothing seemed to happen when I clicked on them, or in dismissing the notice.

The only thing that worked was the disconnect/reconnect, and loss of the stats.

Thx for any help you can provide.

Your stats were indeed associated to your staging site URL, aaca.clwill.com.

I have fixed the issue, and you should be able to get your Stats and Subscribers back by going to the Jetpack menu in your dashboard, and disconnecting / reconnecting to WordPress.com.

In the future, I’d recommend that you enable Jetpack’s Development mode on your staging site to avoid this kind of mixup.

Thank you, wasn’t aware of development mode.
And thank you for getting the stats back.

Now, if you can just fix the “mixup” notice so that it actually does something ??
