Error message when trying to save a post.

ANYONE??? PLEASE? I am at a total loss here???

Have you checked the web server error logs? There might be a useful error there.

Does this happen with anything you try to post? For instance, if you create a new post and add “Lorem Ipsum” to it, same issue?

What exactly does the error log say?

Have you had your site running for a long time, and it’s only just started to do this? If so, have you recently installed any new plugins or changed anything at all? Try de-activating all plugins, changing to the default theme, and see if that solves the problem. If it does, then re-activate one plugin at a time, and change the theme back to your current one, all in “baby-steps”.

I would *highly* recommend upgrading your WordPress version before resorting to the white jacket – there is a very good reasons why the WordPress coders release new versions. Usually, because it’s either a new feature or lots of bug fixes from the previous version.

I have made no changes whatsoever. I will upgrade as soon as I get this fixed. I can post other posts, as long as they are short. I cannot post to the draft post I have. My host tells me I have TONS of room and am nowhere near bandwidth or space limit. I am completely lost here. I have SUCH a great post to publish and I can’t! LOL!!

All errors suggest that sbheader.png is missing! Maybe, just *maybe* it has been deleted somehow. Do you know what folder and file permissions were set to? Maybe you left something world writeable, and someone else deleted it?

Regardless, try re-uploading the entire default theme folder from your version of WordPress, which you can get from here. Just select your version of WordPress to download, extract the default theme folder from /wp-content/themes/default.

As a precaution, on your server, rename the /wp-content/themes/default folder to /wp-content/themes/_default. This way you have a backup copy.

It’s good to not just select to overwrite files, in case the permissions don’t allow you to in which case you may “think” you overwrote them, but in actual fact nothing happened. So this way you’re playing it save with only a small bit of extra hassle, plus you have your original backup in case I am wrong and you still need the original files for some reason.

Then, upload the fresh default theme files to your fresh /wp-content/themes/default folder, and then see if you get the same errors in your error log. If you do still get the same errors, then I probably can’t help any more but it should help limit the problem for someone that knows more than me ??

I am having the same issue and I havent changed ANYTHING. It says:

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
