Uniquely combines slider and social functions
-
I had tried using many slider plugins for WordPress and a number of social plugins as well, but in the end wasn’t entirely satisfied with how most of them looked or functioned and ended up writing a lot of complex code myself.
However, this plugin neatly solves that problem when you’re specifically looking to display your social posts in a slider. That is, it succeeds at combining two things other plugins are notoriously bad at doing. The developer was also very responsive with troubleshooting and updates.
I’m primarily using Twitter for my business, although future LinkedIn or Google+ integration would be an interesting feature for people posting different content to each network.
Even if you’re not a fan of sliders, one of the benefits of this plugin is that it displays your tweets in a simple, elegant, barebones style that often works fine on its own, but can be further customized thru your site’s custom CSS.
Yes Twitter has pre-made widgets that easily display your tweets (and you’ll see them in use even on major commercial sites around the web), but they unfortunately style the tweets with Twitter’s draconian branding, which usually does not integrate artistically with you site’s carefully crafted aesthetic. This plugin is actually one of the easiest ways I’ve found around that problem as well.
