Invasive, overly-complicated, there are better caching plugins out there
-
Question to all the 5 star reviewers out there:
Where’s your evidence that this plugin is “great”?
I’ve done side-by-side comparisons between W3 Total Cache and other plugins, even vs. a completely manual setup.
Conclusion… W3 Total Cache was second to last in my testing. (Screenshots available on demand)
Also, after 30days of use, a popup comes up requesting you to promote the plugin, get on the email list, etc…
While I think it’s absolutely fair, to suggest to free users to share, upgrade, and all that; it’s just waaayyy too in my face. Grrrr…
If you’re running an ecommerce shop – beware… Unless you know exactly what you’re doing, this plugin can REALLY mess up the checkout experience. Particularly for those of you running WooCommerce.
Feature rich? yes.
Will it give you optimal page load times? NO.
