WordPress add to core please!

Im the original asker in https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/53344/how-to-generate-thumbnails-when-needed-only and almost two years later I needed again and I found your plugin. Im not sure why this is not included in core yet as this is the way wordpress should treat thumbnails. Submit a patch in trac please!
