• Sounds good in concept, but you really need to provide a working example of the code that calls the function and displays it on the front end. Not going to do the whole trial and error thing. After several attempts to get the entry to display, it simply won’t. Why? The plugin is supposed to create new post meta for the product and nothing is actually being added that I can see. If you try to call the post meta directly, nothing shows. Will have to come up with my own method to do so via custom fields or something.

**EDIT** – The dev doesn’t seem willing to provide support for the plugin. In order to even use this plugin we need a way to display the descriptions on the front end. All the dev provides is a single helper title, but no functional example…as in all of the important code that actually calls and displays the info.

I must insist that the developer (in person me) is willing to support. But (!) please keep in mind that this plugin is still free. And as I mentioned in the Github-Issue and in the Support-Topic there will be a documentation soon. If you’re willing to pay, this “soon” will be within the next two hours. As long as this doesn’t happen I prioritize my time schedule by myself.

    Thanks and best regards,

So basically you’ve created a free plugin that does not work. If we want it to work as described then we must pay you for the code snippet. In other words, the plugin isn’t free. Making it functional is as simple as you taking two seconds to copy/paste the function snippet that displays the variation description. You could have done that here in your reply rather than attempting to extort users. That is shady. You have been reported to the mods here for extorting users with a nonfunctional free plugin.

Nope. There is a difference between support questions and the development of a free plugin. This plugin works. It adds the custom field to the variation and saves it to the post meta at the variation. A quick look at the helper.php should have cleared your questions.

    Also, thanks for reporting ??

If the plugin does not perform its described function out of the box, then it does not work. The helper file had nothing in it. It had no code snippet to use in your functions.php file that will hook into WooCommerce. The new code you added does not work either, just tried it.

What you attempted was extortion plain and simple. Your plugin did not work as described and you attempted to get users to pay you to give us the last bit of code to make it actually work.

Still waiting for a functional example rather than a lazy, do-it-yourself snippet that still doesn’t work.

Let me get this straight. As you’ve written here you want to use this free plugin in some of your projects. I assume that these are paid client projects. But you refuse to pay for support for a small free plugin? Tell me more about my lazy work ??

When you provide a free plugin that does not work out the box, then try to extort money out of users to get the code that will make it work…that’s lazy and shady.

Furthermore, your new snippet still does not work.

Again…viable code would not do two things that your new snippet does…as in requires users to edit core woocommerce files and the snippet includes styling that hides the description. Any viable plugin to display this would use the built in woocommerce hooks to display the post meta. Your plugin simply does not allow that.

OK, this has stopped being productive a post or 2 back. It’s fine to disagree but using words like “extortion” really doesn’t move the conversation forward.

I’m closing this review. If you want support then please consider creating a support topic.
