• I’ve got an interesting problem, it’s not with wordpress as such.

Lately I’ve noticed a lot of sites that are posting articles back to my site (then leaving a comment on my site leading to there’s ( i.e. https://consoles.abeandblog.info/?p=19623 ) ).

For the most part, I mark them as spam and move on but something strange happened today.

I posted an article about someones site, then went to there site to leave them a comment.

As I read my posted comment I noticed a strange comment above mine,

[…] a short post, I thought I should share this for those who might not have seen […]

Some spam bot, has posted a link back to my site.

I don’t understand why this has happened, ok it will help my site traffic with google but will also give me a bad repuation with the site owner that the comment is posted on.

I am wondering how I might stop this, if the user-agent or IP addresses of these spam bots are known so that I might block them from reading my posts?

    Thanks for your help!

  • I am new to wordpress and seem to have the same issue show up. I was searching for answers when I came across the post above.
I too had 3 comments show up for moderation that all linked to my post being added to another blog. The link there came back to my site but the text link itself says the article was published another name.

Below is on my comment section on this page:

[…] Original post by TCI Blog […]

    It links to: here
and displays a summary of my post credited to TCI Blog.

I’m trying to figure out what this is and who actually benefits from it. I’m assuming it brings traffic to their site so that they get more $ from their advertisers?

Will these links help or harm my blog? Inquiring minds want to know!

Thanks for any insights you can offer.
